  • Precision: Measurement accuracy of <0.5 % with a range of +/- 2000 A.

  • Connectivity: Digital signal transmission via CAN 2.0 and an automotive 4-pin connector.

Smart Features: Integrated temperature compensation and CAN bus communication for State of Charge (SOC) determination.

Q-SMART: Maximum Safety for Critical Systems

The Q-SMART elevates current measurement to the highest safety standards, offering redundant measurements for mission-critical energy systems.

  • Safety: ASIL-D certified (SEooC)—the highest level of functional safety.

  • Versatility: Available in multiple housing options (horizontal and vertical connections).

  • Performance: Maintains <0.5 % accuracy and +/- 2000 A range.

Integration: Seamlessly communicates with Battery Management Systems (BMS) to provide highly integrated data for SOC calculations.

Q-SMART NEXT: The Future of High-Voltage Sensing

Representing the next generation of smart measurement technology, the Q-SMART NEXT is designed for the most demanding high-voltage (HV) environments.

  • Enhanced Capabilities: Features integrated HV measurement, pyro ignition, and isolation monitoring.

  • High Voltage Power: Reinforced insulation for system voltages up to 1500 V and an expanded current range of +/- 4000 A.

  • Advanced Safety: ASIL-D certified (SEooC) with <0.5 % measurement accuracy.

A Strategic Milestone

"The reintegration of these products marks a pivotal moment for Munich Electrification," said Georg-Friedrich Graf, CEO of Munich Electrification. "We are grateful for the successful collaboration phase with Wieland, which allowed these technologies to mature. By bringing these innovations back in-house, we are now positioned to offer our partners a more cohesive and powerful suite of tools to manage the complexities of modern electrification, from cost-effective storage to high-voltage automotive powerhouses."

With this expansion, Munich Electrification reinforces its position as a premier one-stop-shop for advanced BMS components, providing the hardware and intelligence necessary to power the next generation of electric mobility and sustainable energy storage.

ABOUT MUNICH ELECTRIFICATION

Since 2015, Munich Electrification GmbH (ME) has been developing battery management systems (BMS) for demanding applications in electric mobility (automotive and commercial vehicles) and for large-scale stationary energy storage systems (BESS). Headquartered in Munich, the company handles all BMS applications in-house, from cell monitoring and current measurement to functional safety.

In the automotive sector, ME systems are used in production vehicles from leading OEMs such as Daimler Truck. The company’s proprietary BMS platform supports voltages up to 800 V and is designed for rapid adaptability to different battery architectures.

Addressing applications up to 1,500 V, ME delivers the essential battery management intelligence required to stabilize grids, manage peak loads, and facilitate the global shift toward renewable energy sources. High measurement accuracy and remote monitoring functions enable large-scale energy storage operators to reliably monitor system status throughout the entire life cycle.
